We all love themes because it makes things easy, memorable and tidy. For Spring break, choose a theme. Ours happened to fall around Earth Day, so I planned every day of school vacation around farm, botanic garden, nature sanctuary, trail or historical landmark set in nature. Everyone absolutely loved it. They also loved the movie, “The One and Only Ivan,” it’s a beautiful, true story about animals yearning and need for nature.
School break is a perfect time to hold the hands with the one you love or one of your cherubs and watch the sunset. It’s predictable, it sets every evening, 6000 times while your child is under your roof, so make time to take notice, together.
